Seeded launches first full Nogales season
Seeded Produce is engaged in its first full season of operation.
The firm was founded in the spring by Omar Losolla, who is a 20-year veteran of the Nogales produce business.

The new company has started office and warehouse operations in Nogales’ Wilson Produce facility.
Losolla is offering a wide array of Mexican produce to make Seeded a one-stop shop for his customers.
He is working with independent growers, most of whom he’s known for many years. They pack in the bright pink Seeded produce box.
Losolla said all growers operate with top-level food-safety certifications. Some of the growers are Fairtrade compliant.
Losolla carefully chose his growers on the basis of their ability to produce a high-quality product and based on their character.
These growers were also in a position to choose him based on their long, positive experience with his character, he noted.
Losolla said his customers also largely come from long-term relationships.
“We have a pretty good presence for our first full season,” he told The Produce News on Nov. 12.
Late this November, he will begin shipping green beans and then December will bring sweet corn, brussels sprouts, Roma tomatoes and Honey tangerines.
Seeded is offering a 12-month avocado availability. Most of this Michoacan fruit is arriving through McAllen, TX. But he said during the Nogales deal, Seeded will also have avocados in Nogales to ship in whole or mixed loads.
Seeded’s fall deal began in early October, mostly with melons. This involved seedless and mini-watermelons, as well as honeydew. Losolla’s melons will be available through the winter and into May.
He was also be shipping cucumbers in early October. Those will be available until June.
From Culiacan in November, Seeded was providing eggplant and winter squash, which will be on the market until June.
Also in November, Seeded was shipping cantaloupe produced in Guaymas, as well as zucchini, grey and yellow squash.
Losolla describes himself as “a simple man. I do nothing fancy, but I built this with blood, sweat and tears. I do the best I can every day. I have decades of experience but most of my success is based on hard work, strong business ethics and the passion to be the very best.”
“I am very blessed to be able to develop this business based on my many great relationships with growers and customers,” he concluded.
