Though Freska Produce International continues to maintain a leadership role in U.S. mango imports with its signature commodity, a series of strategic partnerships over the last several years has allowed it to diversify its product range, improve its supply chains and evolve with a changing produce industry.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has filed administrative complaints against Riba Foods Inc. and Roberson Onion Corp., doing business as Roberson Produce, for alleged violations of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act. 

Riba, operating from Texas, allegedly failed to make payment promptly to seven produce sellers in the amount of $948,577 from October 2022 through May 2023.

Roberson, operating from Georgia, allegedly failed to make payment promptly to 12 produce sellers in the amount of $889,309 from March 2023 through September 2023.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility intercepted $2.4 million of methamphetamine in a shipment of Persian limes.

A series of cold low-pressure systems is once again set to move through California, northern Mexico and southwestern Arizona this week. These systems will bring rain, strong winds and cooler temperatures to these regions into early next week. Central and Southern California will take the brunt of these systems with less rain expected across the desert regions. This may hinder some harvests in the region with muddy conditions depending on how much rain is received.
