BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings Inc. has appointed President and CEO Bob Eddy as chairman of the board, effective June 15. Eddy will succeed Chris Baldwin, who will remain on the company’s board as a director.

The Citrus Committee of ASOEX, the fruit exporters association of Chile, released its estimate for the 2023 season, projecting global exports of 345,000 tons. This represents a significant increase across all categories from 2022, when Chile was negatively impacted by climatic factors, logistical issues and rising freight costs. Citrus exports in 2022 were consequently down by 32 percent.

Instacart has agreed to pay $46.5 million to settle a lawsuit filed in 2019 seeking restitution for California workers improperly classified as independent contractors instead of employees.

The proposed judgment against Instacart, which was filed with the San Diego Superior Court, covers approximately 308,000 individuals who worked for the grocery delivery service from September 2015 through December 2020. The restitution funds will be divided based on the number of hours each individual worked over that time period.
