The International Fresh Produce Association has announced the names of the winners of the 2024 Produce Excellence in Foodservice Awards. Sponsored by FreshEdge, this prestigious awards program honors chefs and foodservice operators across the country for their produce innovation, creativity and all-around excellence in the use of fresh produce in the culinary arts.

Windset Farms is fresh off CPMA week, which was hosted in Vancouver, British Columbia. The West Coast-based greenhouse company was thrilled to welcome industry members to its beautiful city for the first time since 2018.

Food costs are through the roof, but people still like to enjoy a meal outside the home, once in a while, and that frequency is dwindling. While both grocery and restaurant prices continue to rise, restaurant prices are climbing at a much higher rate than groceries — 5.1 percent annually versus 1.2 percent according to the consumer price index.

Pompano Beach, FL-based Edward L. Myrick Produce has turned its attention to Georgia, where the company represents Leslie, GA-based Minor Bros. Produce, producers of the popular Bay View brand green beans.

The Mushroom Council announced the planned transition of Bart Minor, president, who has led the council for 26 years.
