More than 3 million trays of Zespri RubyRed kiwifruit will be available this season, with its berry-like taste available for the first time in a number of exciting new markets. The RubyRed harvest will get under way in New Zealand in the coming weeks.

BJ’s Wholesale Club is building a new distribution center to be located in Commercial Point, OH. The new facility, expected to open in early 2027, will join eight BJ’s clubs in Ohio.

The company’s new distribution center will expand its supply chain capacity to support its growing footprint. Over the past five years, the company has opened more than 30 clubs — its 250th club in Louisville, KY, opened Jan. 31.

The Texas International Produce Association unveiled a new Viva Fresh Produce Expo website as the expo celebrates its 10th anniversary. The 2025 Viva Fresh Expo will take place in Houston April 10–12, bringing together produce industry leaders from across North America.

JOH, a leading independent food broker based in Billerica, MA, hired Dena Telschow as account manager for the produce and fresh division in the north central region.

Telschow brings 16 years of food industry experience to JOH. Early in her career, she served as a department manager at Spartan Nash, where she oversaw advertising and promotional activities, planned major company events (including expos) and developed strategies to drive sales growth.
