Last summer, three high school students were making the rounds in our neighborhood selling little wooden garden signs that they were making in a garage. Each had hand-painted words on them such as Vegetable Garden, Herb Garden, Flower Garden and a few others.

I thought at first they were making and selling the signs as part of a school charity drive or other fund-raiser. Much to my surprise, they told me they started their own business and were out selling their signs to earn some money.
