Few things taste better after 26.2 miles than ice-cold watermelon. That’s why the National Watermelon Promotion Board was proud to be back at the Marine Corps Marathon Finish Festival, giving away 10 pallets of fresh watermelon to thousands of runners from all 50 states and internationally.

The Colombia Avocado Board held its annual meeting Oct. 16, bringing together directors and association members to review the year’s progress and elect the nine-member board of directors for the 2025-26 term. Four officer positions were filled, including one new director, as CAB builds momentum for another year of growth and stronger retail partnerships in the U.S. market.

Partnership for a Healthier America, the American Frozen Food Institute and Instacart released the findings of an innovative pilot program that successfully expanded access to fruits and vegetables for families with lower incomes by including frozen produce as an option. Conducted as an extension of PHA’s flagship Good Food at Home program, the pilot was supported by AFFI and delivered via Instacart in Chicago, Philadelphia and Baltimore.

The new season 2025 domestic crop of ENVY apples is now landing in grocery stores across the United States and Canada. This year’s launch also marks a significant milestone: the first-ever ENVY apple harvest from New York state, expanding the brand’s regional reach with locally grown premium ENVY apples. 

Cultivated with care by expert growers, the New York crop joins the exceptional fruit from Washington.

The Idaho Potato Commission appointed three new commissioners — Scott Mickelsen, Doug Ruff and Brad Russell — who were officially sworn in Oct. 22.
