The Kroger Co. is looking to get shoppers to focus more on fresh foods with some mealtime inspiration. The retailer shared its simple guide to building the perfect bowl recipe, including extra veggies and a variety of proteins and grains for easy, hearty winter meal solutions.

"Bowls are a perfect template for a fresh and hearty meal that are easy to prep ahead of time for a lunch away from home or no hassle dinner," said Carlo Baldan, group vice president of fresh merchandising at Kroger.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility intercepted $7.77 million in methamphetamine concealed within a shipment manifested as Persian limes. After physically inspecting the shipment, officers extracted 357 packages of alleged methamphetamine weighing 869.72 pounds concealed within the trailer.

“Our CBP officers continue to remain vigilant and used all available tools and resources to intercept this load of methamphetamine,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas port of entry.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture alleged that VIP Marketing Inc. failed to make full payment promptly in the total amount of $408,983 to three sellers for multiple lots of produce in violation of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act. After the complaint was filed, USDA and VIP Marketing Inc. entered into a Consent Decision and Order wherein VIP Marketing Inc. agreed to pay the unpaid produce sellers and to pay a civil penalty in the amount of $40,000.

This year’s show marks CPMA’s 100th anniversary and will take place April 8-10 at the Palais des Congrès in Montreal, featuring 690 booths representing more than 300 companies from around the world, including major growers, importers and exporters.
