FP&FC Northern California Expo to focus on ‘Power of Partnership’
The Fresh Produce & Floral Council Northern California Expo is slated for April 8 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, CA, under the banner “The Power of Partnership.”
There will be a pre-expo cocktail reception on April 7 from 5-7 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Pleasanton at The Club.
Carissa Mace, president of FP&FC in Anaheim, CA, told The Produce News “approximately 1,500 attendees are expected, which is on par with last year.”
There will be 158 booths at the one-day expo with 30 percent of the exhibitors representing the floral industry. According to organizers, the purpose of the event is to promote consumption and usage of floral and produce products, to offer merchandising ideas and to exhibit new products.
“The Northern California Fresh Produce and Floral Council’s annual expo is an exciting regional show that allows attendees and exhibitors alike the ability to meet and exchange ideas in a casual intimate atmosphere,” Jennifer Pelayo, committee chair for the event, told The Produce News. “Attendees will benefit from networking opportunities and the ability to meet with multiple vendors in a short amount of time.”
Exhibitors move in and set up at the fairgrounds beginning at noon on April 7 until 9 p.m., continuing with set up on April 8 from 6:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. The event begins with a continental breakfast and general registration at 9 a.m. on April 8 and the expo floor opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 3:30 p.m.
First held in 2007, it is one of the few industry events that invite store-level floral managers and staff to connect with growers and suppliers.
“Attendees continue to enjoy and find value in this show because of its central location and the participating vendors and retailer attendees,” said Pelayo.
The FP&FC member registration fee of $150 and $300 for non-members is waived for retail store personnel.
