Family-owned, Southern California-based Mellano & Co. is continuing a nearly 90-year tradition of providing and sourcing flowers for The Rose Parade. The third-generation floral company was started by Giovanni Mellano, an Italian immigrant flower farmer, in 1925. Mellano & Co. has since provided flowers in some shape or form to the Rose Parade for over eight decades.

Each year, select colors make the forefront and are named color trends of the year. These color trends can be seen across the spectrum from fashion, home decor, and floral. We have been waiting in anticipation and finally Pantone and Coloro have announced the color trends of 2022.

At its member appreciation event in August, CalFlowers provided to attendees its exciting, new marketing initiative. CalFlowers’ aspirational goal is “More Americans enjoying more flowers more often” and it is excited to launch this high-impact campaign on behalf of the broader floral industry.

Green Circle Growers has donated 300 Fiddle Leaf Fig plants to home-bound senior citizens this holiday season through an organization called Enrichment Centers for Huron County, which provides programs and services designed to enrich the quality of life for seniors. The Oberlin-based greenhouse delivered these plants to the Enrichment Center on Monday, Dec. 20. The Enrichment Center will coordinate drop-off to individuals throughout the week prior to the holiday.
