HILLSDALE, NJ — The New Jersey Department of Agriculture hosted the Eastern Produce Council's Jersey Fresh Cookout on a toasty evening, May 19, here, at Demarest Farms. Jersey Fresh produce and other locally sourced food and beverages held a starring role throughout the evening as the state-sponsored program — the oldest of its kind — marked its 42nd year.

With the TX1015 sweet onion season in full swing, retailers across Texas are expanding promotional efforts and merchandising tactics to keep the iconic sweet onion front and center during peak grilling season. 

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has filed an administrative complaint against Ingles Produce Inc. The company, operating from Florida, allegedly failed to make prompt payment to 10 produce sellers in the amount of $1 million from August 2023 through December 2025, in violation of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.  

Dave Flitman, currently CEO of US Foods Holding Corp., has assumed the additional role of chair of the board. David Tehle, currently chair, transitioned to the role of lead independent director of the board.

¡Yo Quiero! has named Codie Hair as its new director of sales. In this role, Hair will support national accounts alongside Jay Alley, vice president of sales, helping drive continued growth for the brand and its expanding portfolio of guacamole, salsa, queso, bean dips and other refrigerated dip solutions across produce and deli departments.

Jeff England will join Target as executive vice president, chief global supply chain and logistics officer, effective May 31. England will report to Lisa Roath, Target's chief operating officer, and will be responsible for accelerating Target's supply chain plans to improve its shopping experience.
