Farm Fresh Direct celebrates 20th anniversary
Farm Fresh Direct of America, a major grower-shipper of Colorado potatoes, is celebrated its 20th anniversary on Aug. 16, noted Jamey Higham, the CEO and president of the firm, which is located in Monte Vista, CO. On that day in the office was “a big ice cream party.” The firm will be promoting otherwise!
Farm Fresh CrewThe firm describes itself as “a partnership of multi-generational family potato farms located throughout Colorado’s fertile and gorgeous San Luis Valley and beyond. We are dedicated to growing fresh, healthy and delicious food.”
Other than harvest running a week to ten-days late, for the new Colorado potato deal will be about average, according to Higham. The Colorado potato harvest normally begins in the third week of August but it’s late in 2019 “because of a cool, wet spring, but we’ll be ok,” he said.
By late August the firm planned to be shipping fresh potatoes and also putting some into storage.
Higham said the firm has added some exciting new customers to its client list this year.
