Eco Fresh Bouquet’s new sponge-wrap system hydrates stems
As the former owner of NYC Farm Chic Flowers, every time I crafted hand-held bouquets for delivery, there was a constant “there has to be a better way,” voice in my mind — that is, a better way to hydrate flower stems of hand-held bouquets other than messy paper towels or chemically based foam wraps.
The major design goals for the desired product included:
• Support the life of cut flowers.
• 100 percent plant-based composition.
• Ecologically sound.
• Biodegradable.
• Extremely absorbent.
• Easy to use.
• Cost-effective.
• Not messy.
• Solid performance.
• Save water.
• Professional appearance.
Also, I wanted an effective way to differentiate from the competition, build revenue, satisfaction, loyalty, confidence and meet sustainability objectives while meeting the growing needs of customers by providing surety that each bouquet would arrive fresh and beautiful — every time.
After years of contemplation, extensive research and testing, the product goal was achieved. Eco Fresh Bouquet’s patent-pending floral hydration stem sponge-wrap system officially debuted at the 2015 World Floral Expo in Los Angeles in March and was touted as an unequivocal “game changer” in the floral industry. For the first time there is an ecologically sound solution available for hydrating flower stems with a professional look and reliable performance.
Applications for this mobile water source run throughout numerous sectors of the floral industry such as online/retailers, weddings, events, farmer-florists, bouquet makers and transit shippers. Distribution inquiries for this new product have come from all over the United States, as well as Europe, South America, Australia and Asia.
