Duda’s new ‘Ready-to-Eat Radish’ product line hitting stores now
Duda Farm Fresh Foods, headquartered in Oviedo, FL, has a new Ready-to-Eat Radish product line that started hitting stores in the Northeast and West Coast in January.
“We saw an opportunity to innovate in the radish category by offering new forms with compelling product benefits,” said Nichole Towell, director of marketing.
Duda Farm Fresh Foods’ Radish Group will entice kids and adults alike.“After exploring billions of potential combinations for new radish products we chose the top three as items that consumers would purchase with the most amount of frequency. We built our program around ‘Ready Radishes,’ which are cut, trimmed, and ready to eat, along with ‘Radish Coins’ and ‘Radish MiniSticks.’ Our research shows these products will entice the radish lover and the younger non-radish user who may be discouraged from consuming the item due to prep and unfamiliarity.”
Duda’s team will be promoting the new radish products at Booth No. 407 at the 2015 Southern Exposure Conference & Expo at the at the Caribe Royale All Suite Hotel & Convention Center in Orlando, FL, on Feb. 26-28.
Team members on hand will be Jason Bedsole, sales manager; John Alderman, senior account manager; Scott Wilkins, account manager; Christina Monnin, account manager; Tim Ross, regional sales manager; and Rich Uchida and Paul Huckabay, sales managers.
Towell noted that Duda Farm Fresh Foods has been a member of SEPC since its inception.
“And we have exhibited at the Southern Exposure event for nine years,” she said. “Dan Duda, president and chief operating office of Duda Farm Fresh Foods is an active member of the Southeast Produce Council Advisory Board. With our home base in Florida, our business has a deep rooted connection with the land and people in the Southeast. We look forward to this show each year, in large part to show our ongoing support for our home state.”
Staff members attending Southern Exposure participate in all of the activities offered at the event. And the company is an audio visual sponsor, in addition to sponsoring a golf hole in the Tom Page Golf Classic.
“Duda Farm Fresh Foods will continue to showcase the company’s ever-expanding line of convenience items, tailored for the consumer living life on the go,” said Towell. “From citrus to vegetable items, we will present products at the event that directly meet the needs of today’s consumer and offer retailers an opportunity to increase revenue with our value-added products.”
The product line includes “Dandy” brand “Simple Salad in Seconds,” a flavorful variety of petite lettuce heads grown in Florida. Consumers simply cut, rinse and toss with their favorite vegetables and dressing for a quick salad, or pat dry and top with filling of choice for a healthy lettuce cup.
“This is a highly versatile and on-trend lettuce mix with an ease of prep and value position that separates it from similar varieties,” explained Towell. “It’s lettuce that combines freshness, flavor, crunch and convenience. And there are multiple merchandising options. They can be placed with value-added salad kits, or displayed with whole head lettuce varieties.”
Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Nichole noted, is pleased to have been named a Produce for Better Health Fresh Produce Industry Role Model for a fifth consecutive year.
“This honor is something that we are very proud to receive as a grower and shipper of farm fresh products,” she said.
