DNE featuring grapefruit and Valencia oranges through the spring
“DNE will be featuring its line of Florida citrus products at the Southeast Produce Council’s 2014 Southern Exposure annual conference and expo,” said Kathy Hearl, marketing promotions manager for DNE World Fruit LLC, headquartered in Fort Pierce, FL. “Mark Hanks, vice president of sales and marketing; Barbara Anderson, marketing promotions manager; Bob States, sales representatives; and other sales staff members will be at our booth, number 905, to greet visitors.”
The Southern Exposure event will be held Feb. 27 to March 1 at the Caribe Royale Conference Center & Hotel in Orlando, FL.
DNE has been a member of the Southeast Produce Council for 10 years, and it has exhibited every year since joining the organization. States serves on the attendance committee, membership/marketing committee and fall conference committee.
“Barbara Anderson currently serves on the membership/marketing committee and the STARS Committee [Southeast Top Agricultural Recruits Scholarship],” said Hearl. “The goal of STARS is to recruit top students and to introduce them to the many job opportunities the produce industry has to offer.
“As members and sponsors, being active on the board and committees gives DNE opportunities to associate with many decision makers of the numerous retail and foodservice members, as well as with other attendees at the event in a relaxed and personal atmosphere,” she continued. “Also, the workshops, tours and other educational events have been beneficial to us over the years.”
DNE staff members plan to participate in — as they have in the past — all of the extracurricular activities that Southern Exposure offers, including the golf tournament, gala event, workshops, tours, keynote luncheon, Produce for Kids and the VIP reception.
“DNE has also sponsored field tours for both the Southeast Produce Council expo, and for the charitable groups that the council sponsors,” added Hearl.
Regarding the Florida citrus season, Hearl said DNE will continue into the spring months with grapefruit and Valencia juice oranges.
Grapefruit will be available through March in bulk and five-, eight- and 10-pound bags.
“We will be promoting Valencia juice oranges through mid-April,” she added. “These are available in four-, five- and eight-pound bags in the ‘Ocean Spray’ label. Due to its high juice yield, flavor and juice color, the Valencia is an ideal juice orange for retailers that juice at store level, as well as for consumers who enjoy fresh-squeezed orange juice at home.”
