Designer of the Year named
The winners of state and regional floral design contests competed in October at the Mission Point Resort in Mackinac Island, MI, for the title of National Designer of the Year, according to a Michigan Floral Association news release. The contest theme was “A Destination Wedding — Creating a Pinterest Board.”
The 2014 National Designer of the Year is Jun Salinas, representing the Tennessee State Florists Association; first runner up is Jackie Bockwitz, representing the Minnesota State Florists Association; and second runner up is Diane Schulte, representing the Wisconsin and Upper Michigan State Florists Association.
The contest was sponsored by Syndicate Sales and Teleflora and administered by the National Alliance of Floral Associations. The winners received cash awards of $1,000 for first place, $300 for second place, and $100 for third place.
