The California Tree Fruit Agreement in Reedley announced a new partnership with the California Pear Advisory Board to share its retail sales representatives for the 2005 season.
?This is another step in our continuing effort to provide value to the industry," said CTFA President Blair Richardson. "We have been adjusting our resources during the past few years to provide increasing structure in our sales effort based on new data-collection systems for chain-specific programs. We believe the model that CPAB has employed during the past several years is very much in tune with our industry needs."
Additional plans to supplement existing resources include hiring a new national account director in the near future, along with a year-round coordinator for sales.
Mr. Richardson indicated that CTFA is focusing on generating stronger communications with the retail sales desk and providing creative opportunities for promotion programs that result in greater accountability and sales success for the industry.
?The challenges that our industry faces require the employment of new technology and new systems to generate a sustained return on investment," said Mr. Richardson. "While change includes potential shifting of resources and personnel, our vision remains focused on the long-term viability of the tree fruit industry."
