Vick Family Farms has been growing sweetpotatoes since the early ’80s and its Carolina Gold brand has been on the shelves since 1996. 

A.V. Thomas Produce Inc. entered into a definitive merger agreement with Yagi Bros. Produce, one of the original sweet potato growers, packers and shippers in California, which started in 1947.

If there’s one month to make sweet potatoes your Valentine, it’s February. Country Sweet Produce’s Bako Sweet is celebrating American Heart Month, National Sweet Potato Month, Valentine’s Day and Cook a Sweet Potato Day this month with several marketing efforts to drive sales during this season. 

Vick Family Farms expects some of the best quality sweet potatoes this year. “We see our quality is beautiful and the potatoes sized up very nicely despite the hot dry weather,” stated Charlotte Vick, partner and produce manager at Vick Family Farms in Wilson, NC. “Rain in late July was just in time to help push the crop along. What we have seen thus far it is probably some of the best quality we have seen in years with more consistent shape and size.”
