Stemilt’s stone fruit season officially kicked off this week with its first run of Artisan Organics apricots. High anticipation for Stemilt’s stone fruit season coincides with the company’s World Famous cherry season making it a summer of endless flavor opportunities.

Peaches are one of South Carolina’s most important crops, and in most years, the state grows more peaches than any other besides California, contributing about 17,000 acres to the industry.

Fruit World, a family-owned, flavor-focused grower-shipper of organic and conventional fruit, is now shipping its organic cherries and will begin packing and shipping organic apricots the first week of May. "What a difference one year makes," said Bianca Kaprielian, Fruit World co-founder and CEO. "2020 was a bumpy stone fruit season in California, but this year we had enough chill hours and favorable weather, and the trees are full of great looking fruit."

Sun World International LLC, a global fruit genetics and licensing company, has granted six additional licenses to Egyptian table grape grower/marketers, bringing the total Egyptian licensees to seven. Two new Italian table grape grower/marketers have also been appointed as part of the company’s strategy to extend its reach in these high-potential gateway markets, bringing the total Italian licensees to 10.

Prima Wawona, a leading grower and marketer of conventional and organic peaches, nectarines, plums and apricots, is expanding by 2,600 acres devoted to growing stone fruit.  The new acreage increases the company’s total to almost 15,000 acres, equating to 1 million additional stone fruit trees, and further establishes Prima Wawona as a leading stone fruit grower.

TerraFresh Organics, an organic fruit company known for supplying organic citrus, mangos, stone fruit and grapes to North America, announced the addition of organic Amber Crest peaches to its Earth Greens label through May 2021.
