Pear Bureau Northwest is partnering with Psycho Clown, one of the most famous Mexican wrestlers (luchadors), who will tout healthy, delicious pears to his broad fan base. Psycho Clown comes from a luchador family, son of Super Porky, and brother of La Goya, growing up in the luchador community and interacting with lucha libre fans his entire life. He is considered one of the best, most popular luchadors in Mexico and one of the most well-known among kids.

More than 100 chefs from across the United Arab Emirates-UAE created history Jan. 4 by producing 2,209 pies made with USA Pears and setting a Guinness World Record for the longest line of pies.

Pear Bureau Northwest introduced a turn-key nationwide Aisle of Red Pears display challenge open to retailers of all sizes in the U.S. and Canada, coming just in time for the health-focused months in the new year.

The challenge is simple to enter, with all entries receiving a $25 gift card. To enter, retailers just upload a photo of an eye-catching, 12-square-foot display of red Anjou pears. In addition to all participants receiving a $25 gift card, a $500 gift card for every 50 qualified entries will be randomly selected, with up to 10 awarded.

New year, same great Rushing Rivers d’Anjou pears from Stemilt and exactly what the retailer needs to take their pear category from good to World Famous. Brianna Shales, Stemilt marketing director, said the company’s early involvement in pear ripening is the differentiation point and the reason consumers are coming back for more.

Over the past decade, CMI Orchards has continued to invest significantly in overall organic growth, bringing to market some of the very first club organics such as Ambrosia, KIKU, Kanzi, Jazz, Envy, Smitten and EverCrisp apples. CMI Orchards’ overall organic apple production is up 25.5 percent over last year, and organic pear production is up 73.2 percent.  Additional growth is expected in the new year.

CMI Orchards has entered into a partnership with Independent Warehouse Inc. to expand pear distribution to domestic and international retailers.
