The Mushroom Council plays an important role in the national promotion of fresh mushrooms. Membership is comprised of fresh market producers or importers that average more than 500,000 pounds of mushrooms produced or imported annually.

Working in the mushroom capital of the world, Kennett Square, PA-based Phillips Mushroom Farms continues the legacy started by William Phillips, who first started farming mushrooms in the area in 1927.

Since that time, the company has grown to where it now sells more than 57 million mushrooms per year.

Jill Moran, a long-time Monterey Mushrooms employee, re-joined the sales team as a sales manager based out of Watsonville, CA. Moran will manage fresh mushroom sales for retail and foodservice customers in the western region.

Buona Foods is a third-generation, family-owned mushroom company, which operates three farms and a packinghouse in the mushroom capital of the world, Kennett Square, PA.

Phillips Mushroom Farms offers a wide array of mushrooms — from conventional whites to organic portabella, and specialty mushrooms like Maitake, Lion’s Mane and Shiitake.

The Kennett Square, PA-based company, which has been growing mushrooms since 1927, also features customized retail packs, bulk sale assortments, foodservice packs and private label packages. As the company enters July, it’s seen some positive trends for 2022.

Mother Earth will soon be headed to the Organic Produce Summit, with a trio of team members — Meghan Klotzbach, vice president of sales, marketing and operations; Tom Leo, sales and procurement manager; and Mark Kreiner, outside sales coordinator — at booth No. 219. “We will be displaying our current assortment with a key focus on exotic mushrooms,” Kreiner said.
