Jeff Cardinale, communications manager for the California Table Grape Commission revealed it’s an exciting time for the state’s grape industry and 2021 projects to be one of the best seasons ever.

Nineteen countries around the world will have promotions for California grapes this season, which represents 94 percent of the California grape export volume in 2020.

Jac. Vandenberg Inc.'s inaugural Sonoran Sunrays grape season is officially under way. The first Sunrays grapes from Mexico were packed over the weekend. In its first season in grapes, the Sunrays brand has already shipped over 380,000 boxes from Peru and Chile and expects to pack more than 250,000 boxes out of northern Mexico. The Sunrays Sonoran grape season will run through mid-July and then transition to its California crop.

Divine Flavor has started receiving its first shipments of grapes, officially kicking off its Sonoran grape program for 2021. This season the company anticipates packing more than 5 million boxes out of northern Mexico, which is about a 25 percent increase from last year

Leading the way is Carlos Bon, Divine Flavor’s vice president of sales, who is preparing the company for its biggest commercial volume season since the company was established in 2006.
