Four Star Fruit, a premier full-service grower and marketer of year-round table grapes, is finishing the California grape season strong and transitioning to the Peruvian and Chilean import season, beginning harvest this month.

In the latest move to strengthen the global marketing focus of the California Table Grape Commission, Maria Montalvo has been promoted to senior marketing director.

Awe Sum Organics started the 10th season of its organic Peruvian winter table grape program. The company helps to fill the winter organic fruit void with high-quality organic table grapes from early December, when the California grape season is finishing up, well into April.

Loading on both coasts during the winter months, Awe Sum Organics’ Peruvian table grapes offer customers a full and reliable supply.

In a landmark decision, the court of Bari issued a first-of-its-kind injunction forbidding an Italian grape producer from harvesting or selling any table grapes from unauthorized plantings of Sugrathirtyfive variety (Autumncrisp brand) grapevines. The Sugrathirtyfive grape variety is owned by Sun World International LLC. Under the court’s order, until the infringing vines are removed and replaced, the vineyards are effectively worthless.

Sun World International LLC added three importers to its panel of North American licensees: GrapeMan Farms, Pacific Trellis Fruit and Sierra Produce. The appointments further expand the company’s panel of licensed importers to 17 companies.

The Pretty Lady Vineyards team will be featuring its premium California table grapes at the revamped IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show in Orlando, FL. The Pretty Lady fields are currently being harvested for their fall crop and will be on display at this year’s show.
