Salix Fruits, a leading importer-exporter of fresh fruits based in Philadelphia, announced the launch of its summer citrus program for 2025, marking the beginning of the Southern Hemisphere’s citrus season with featured products such as lemons, mandarins, oranges and grapefruits.

This season is significant for the company, according to Salix CEO Alejandro Moralejo, as citrus remains one of its core product categories.

LGS Specialty Sales expects a seamless transition from domestic and Moroccan mandarins into Southern Hemisphere supplies, offering Clemenules and Orograndes varieties over the next month and then transitioning to W. Murcotts and Tango varieties late June and early July.

Sunkist is turning up the flavor this summer, spotlighting the bold, tangy refreshment of California-grown grapefruit and introducing a new way to enjoy it — the three- and five-pound grapefruit combo bags, now shipping nationwide. 

On the cusp of two major holidays, Bee Sweet Citrus is encouraging customers to look to their spring citrus portfolio to meet ongoing citrus demand.

This is an excellent time for promoting loose or bagged California navel oranges while the supplies are plentiful. The demand is moderate and the market is about steady. Smaller 113s and 138s are at a current peak right now with sizing starting to shift up to the larger fruit.
