This summer, Driscoll’s will help berry lovers kick off a deliciously sweet season with the long-anticipated return of Rosé Berries – beautiful blush-colored strawberries and raspberries – and its Sweetest Batch strawberries and raspberries, each selected for their extra-sweet flavor profiles. Both berry collections were developed to deliver a premium produce experience that surprises and delights consumers with each bite.

New Jersey farmers produce more than 100 varieties of fruits and vegetables during our growing season from April through November, with the heart of the season coming during the summer months. One sure harbinger of the summer season is the arrival of Jersey Fresh blueberries.

Consumers wait for blueberries from the Garden State all year long because they know Jersey Fresh blueberries will provide the flavor and size they desire.

This year marks the opening of a new cold storage and packing facility centrally located in Vineland, NJ, for Consalo Family Farms. “The facility has six new forced air coolers, which allows for cooling of 60 pallets of blueberries or vegetables at a time,” explained Chelsea Consalo, vice president of produce operations. “The new space holds more than 1,000 pallets per day at a time. The increased storage space in Vineland allows us increased packing capacities on our farms.

Berries are a big part of what Always Fresh Farms, headquartered in Winter Haven, FL, does. In fact, the category represents 85 percent of the revenue from the company.

“We represent tens of millions of packages of berries, which equate to roughly 100 million pounds of berry production globally,” said Wayne Giddings, president and CEO of the company.
