During the month of April, The United Family donated more than 50,000 pounds of apples to food banks and food pantries across Texas and New Mexico as part of the Take a Bite Out of Hunger program.

During the 14 years of the Take a Bite Out of Hunger program, United Family stores have donated 600,000 pounds of apples and fed more than 167,000 families with the help of FirstFruits Farms. In 2024, the companies continue to add to that total.
