Northeast Grocery Inc., parent company of Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops Friendly Markets, took part in last week's 12th annual Big Apple Crunch event.

FarmOn! collaborated with local schools across New York state to offer a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship for a Victory Garden, and Price Chopper/Market 32 and Tops supported this initiative with their own Crunch event.

Hudson River Fruit Distributors, in partnership with Hennessy Foods and Taylor Farms, donated 40,000 pounds of fresh apples to families and communities impacted by Hurricane Helene.

In the aftermath of this devastating natural disaster, providing relief to those in need is of paramount importance. The donation, coordinated with Taylor Farms, will help deliver nutritious and fresh apples to areas hardest hit by the storm, offering essential support during these challenging times.

The New York apple harvest is well under way, harvesting around 31 million bushels of apples in 2024. There are currently more than 500 family-owned orchards in New York state, making New York the second-largest producer of apples in the country.

Washington Fruit Growers has been growing, packing and shipping apples, pears and cherries to customers around the world since 1916. One of the ways it has stayed successful for so long is by taking advantage of important networking opportunities, such as the International Fresh Produce Association’s Global Produce & Floral show.

The New York Apple Association is rolling out 600 king buses advertising "The Big Flavor in The Big Apple" to spread the word that their delicious New York state apples are hitting local grocers. These buses will traverse the city for two and a half months, bringing the excitement and goodness of New York apples to every corner of the city.
