Green Life Farms focuses on quality, consistency and growth in 2026
At the heart of Green Life Farms is a commitment to quality, food safety and people, a vision that begins with its founder, Flavio Martinez, and continues to guide the company’s growth across multiple regions.
Based in Indio, CA, in the Coachella Valley, the grower-packer-shipper has built a reputation for delivering a wide range of produce year-round while staying rooted in the principles established by its leadership.
“Our company really starts with our owner’s vision,” said Jaime Torres, CFO. “Everything we do, from food safety to quality to how we treat our people, comes from that foundation.”
That philosophy has helped Green Life Farms navigate a dynamic start to 2026, as the company works through seasonal transitions and shifting growing conditions. With operations spanning multiple regions, including the Imperial Valley, Oxnard and Salinas, the company is currently in the midst of one of its busiest periods of the year.
“This is a transition time for us,” said Shonna Williams, director of sales. “We’re moving from our El Centro operations up to the coast, which means going from one cooler to multiple locations. It’s a hectic time, but it’s part of how we maintain year-round supply for our customers.”
That ability to follow favorable growing conditions is central to the company’s strategy. While headquartered in the Coachella Valley, Green Life Farms sources product from several regions, including Mexico, allowing it to provide a steady flow of fruits and vegetables across seasons.
“We have to follow the good weather,” Torres said. “Our goal is to make those transitions seamless for customers, even though there’s a lot happening behind the scenes.”
The Coachella Valley remains an important part of the company’s identity, both historically and operationally. Known for its agricultural roots, the region continues to serve as a key hub for produce distribution.
“This area has a rich farming history,” Williams said. “For many families here, agriculture has been a way of life for generations. Even as the region has grown, produce is still a big part of what makes this area special.”
Strategically located near major transportation routes, the region provides efficient access to markets across the United States, reinforcing its role as a critical link in the supply chain.
Like many growers, Green Life Farms has faced challenges related to weather variability in 2026. Unseasonably high temperatures in the desert region have impacted certain crops and accelerated the transition to coastal growing areas earlier than usual.
“We saw some extreme heat, and that caused some fields to finish earlier than expected,” Williams said. “That’s why we’re moving up the coast a little sooner this year.”
Torres noted that diversification across regions helps mitigate those risks.
“Weather is something we can’t control,” he said. “By growing in multiple areas, we can adjust and maintain supply even when one region is impacted.”
On the demand side, the company is seeing continued interest in organic produce, particularly from retail customers focused on health and wellness.
“There’s definitely a stronger push toward organic,” Williams said. “Consumers are more focused on healthy living, and that’s driving demand in the retail sector.”
Sustainability also remains a key priority, with the company investing heavily in drip irrigation systems across its farms.
“We’ve converted most of our acreage to drip irrigation,” Torres said. “It allows us to target water directly to the plant, reduce runoff and use farming inputs more efficiently. It’s a big part of how we manage resources responsibly.”
Food safety is another cornerstone of the operation, supported by the company’s vertically integrated model.
“As a grower, packer and shipper, we have direct oversight and control over the entire production process,” Torres said.
“That allows us to maintain strict standards and ensure we’re delivering safe, high-quality produce to our customers.”
Looking ahead, Green Life Farms is focused on strengthening partnerships and exploring new opportunities for growth, including expanding its product offerings.
“It comes down to quality, consistency and communication,” Williams said. “Those are the things that define who we are and what our customers can expect from us.”
