CCM elects new chairman
Dave Roberts of DCR Co. in Visalia, CA, has been elected the new chairman of California Citrus Mutual's board of directors, a statewide citrus producer's trade association based in Exeter, CA, that represents more than 200,000 acres of citrus farms in California.
California Citrus Mutual held its 31st annual meeting the week of Nov. 3 in Visalia, where changes and additions to its board were announced. Mr. Roberts is a second-generation family farmer who grows Navel and Valencia oranges and who, along with his brother, manages a trucking firm that hauls fruit from the grove to the packinghouse. Mr. Roberts joined California Citrus Mutual in 2000 and served as vice chair for two years. During his eight-year tenure, he has been active on marketing issues and legislative concerns, especially water-related mandates.
Other changes to the board include Dave Tomlinson moving from secretary- treasurer to first vice-chairman and Tom Wollenman moving to second vice- chairman. James Sherwood is the new secretary-treasurer. Maribel Nenna, a field representative for Visalia Citrus Packing Group and a grower, is a new addition to the board this year.
The other board members are Caroline Alfheim, Jim Bates, Andrew Brown, Doug Carman, John Demshki, John Gless, Kevin Howard, Edward C. Jones Jr., Tony Lombardi, James McFarlane, Robert McKellar, Richard Moss, John Nehrig, James C. Nickel, Terry Orr, Etienne Rabe, Kevin Severns, Jeff Slover, Bob Wagner and John Woolf.
