Business is booming for Scotlynn Sweet Pac Growers
Bryan Biederman, an owner of Scotlynn Sweet Pac Growers LLC in Belle Glade, FL, said business continues to boom since the company opened its doors two years ago. “We’re very thankful for the support we’ve received, and very optimistic about our future,” he told The Produce News.
Biederman and fellow Owner J.D. Poole are industry veterans who formed a partnership with Scott Biddle, president/owner of Ontario-based Scotlynn Investments. Scotlynn Sweet Pac Growers moves sweet corn, watermelon, green beans, cabbage, celery, radish, leafy greens, green pepper, squash and eggplant marketed under the “Scotlynn Sweet Pac Growers” label.
The strategic partnership between the three men allows Scotlynn Sweet Pac Growers to combine resources and synergy with Biddle’s established Canadian produce and trucking businesses. Scotlynn’s trucking operation, which now has a division in South Florida, runs a fleet of over 300 trucks throughout North America.

The company’s production acreage continues to increase, and prospects for the 2014 season are promising. Biederman is expecting “a banner spring crop in Florida” barring unforeseen weather events. “Our spring focus is on sweet corn and watermelon, which will ship from Florida from early April to June 1,” he said. “Quality looks very good this spring.”
Scotlynn Sweet Pac Growers moves with the seasonal change in crops. Once production in South Florida finishes, the company moves commodities from Georgia and on to Canada from July to September. “By following the growing regions, we can offer a wide range of commodities and be in position to guarantee the freshest, highest-quality produce year-round,” Biederman stated.
The company works with its growers to ensure the highest food-safety standards and practices are achieved. The company’s Florida packinghouse was recently audited and received a 99.59 percent rating from PrimusLabs.
