Commitment, innovation, and service are the hallmarks of the International Fresh Produce Association Retail Produce Manager Awards. Nominations opened in mid-January, and IFPA encourages all members of the produce industry to nominate a deserving produce manager for this prestigious award.

The supply for one of the most popular products in the produce aisle, berries, is improving — slowly, according to Mark Campbell, founder and CEO of ProduceIQ.

“Grape supply is constricting at a time usually marked by declining prices. Peruvian production is on the decline, while Chile is just beginning,” he said. He reported that at an average of $35, grape prices are at a 10-year high and may climb higher over the next three weeks.

Indoor farming pioneer and fresh food brand Gotham Greens opened its first high-tech hydroponic greenhouse in Texas — its 13th greenhouse nationwide — bringing its total footprint to more than 40 acres (1.8 million square feet) across nine U.S. states.
