Ahead of National Blueberry Month, Naturipe Farms is kicking off the summer season with promotable volumes of its flavorful blueberries from New Jersey, Michigan and the Pacific Northwest.

With more than 50 years of produce experience, Belding, MI-based BelleHarvest is committed to delivering consistent, high-quality, flavorful apples — season after season.

“We have seen a 55 percent increase in the volume of our year-round program from last season and have added varieties to round out our high-flavor line-up,” Milt Fuehrer, chief executive officer of Belleharvest, told The Produce News toward the end of May.

The Healthy Family Project Publix Produce for Kids cause marketing campaign took place May 11 through June 21 with 13 produce companies donating 775,000 meals to the 35 Feeding America network food banks in the Publix market area. This is the campaign’s 21st year and has raised more than $3.8M for causes that support families and children in the Publix communities and helped provide more than 13 million meals to Feeding America network food banks.

In response to heavy rains impacting both Central and Southern Chile, the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association said they are assessing damage in growing areas and the impact on water storage and irrigation infrastructure, as well as evaluating support actions to communities impacted by the rain.
