If you are in the Big Apple, you should be eating Big Apple apples.

That is the philosophy of officials at Fowler Farms, the Wolcott, N.Y.-based grower, as it gets ready for the New York Produce Show in the midst of celebrating its 165th year in business.

Even folks from Philadelphia love New York. Well, at least the New York Produce Show.

Tom Kovacevich, president of TMK Produce, said this month show is always a highlight of the year, giving his team, and many like it, the opportunity to not only shine, but to engage with all types of retailers — big and small.

This year, I had the privilege of being invited as press to the Proflora 2023 convention in Bogotá, Colombia. The anticipation within our team was palpable. Not only was this my first time in Bogotá as a business owner with a booth, but we were invited as press, and treated with exceptional hospitality from the start.

Shuman Farms is looking forward to exhibiting at this year’s Eastern Produce Council’s annual NY Produce Show, a highlight on the yearly trade show calendar for the team.

A.J. Trucco has been a staple at the Hunts Point Terminal Market since the Bronx market first opened its doors in 1965, and the company is one of the largest importers of fresh produce, dried fruits and nuts from around the world.

Bananas are one of the top-selling items in the produce department every day of the year. The banana supplies are currently sufficient with good quality, according to shippers.
