California table grape growers doubled the impact of each gift made to the Central California Food Bank Oct. 20-31 to help provide meals for families facing hunger across the Central Valley.

Four major banana importers have announced the formation of a new not-for-profit trade association to support the banana category in North America. The Banana Association of North America will be governed by a board of directors consisting of executives of its member companies, including Chiquita, Dole Food Co., Fresh Del Monte and Fyffes North America.  

The International Fresh Produce Association announced the incoming Class 30 of its Produce Industry Leadership Program, a milestone marking three decades of cultivating the next generation of industry leaders.  

Sponsored by Corteva Agriscience, this prestigious program stands as the only ongoing leadership program dedicated to the fresh produce and floral industries. Since its inception in 1995, the program has shaped more than 350 graduates into influential changemakers across the global fresh supply chain.  

The International Fresh Produce Association, along with Global Produce & Floral Show exhibitors, recently donated 226,227 pounds of fresh, quality produce to the local Orange County and Los Angeles community. Each year the donation occurs in the area in which the Global show takes place, but it takes on greater significance this year with the expiration of SNAP benefits looming tomorrow.
