Produce House, a Nogales, AZ-based distributor of Mexican produce, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in business and is also introducing a new organic citrus program to its lineup.

A tight tomato market has defined the winter season in Mexico, but Joe Bernardi believes relief is in sight in the coming weeks. Bernardi said a number of factors contributed to the short supply through January.

The Fresh Produce Association of the Americas will hold its 2024 Spring Policy Summit April 3 at the Tubac Golf Resort and Spa in Tubac, AZ. 

Dedicated to cultivating meaningful discussions surrounding policies and regulations impacting the importation of fresh produce, the summit has a history of facilitating open dialogues between industry leaders and government agencies from the U.S., Mexico and Canada. 

Delta Fresh was seeing limited supply through January on some of its key winter items, but company officials are expecting relief in the coming weeks.

Despite a slow start for its colored Bell pepper deal, IPR Fresh is now seeing strong movement and prices for its main commodity and is optimistic the good market conditions will continue through the spring.

Jose Luis Obregon, president of Nogales, AZ-based IPR Fresh, told The Produce News in late January that the deal was delayed out of the gate in early November but started picking up in mid-December and has been going strong ever since.
