BelleHarvest, a grower-owned distributor of fresh apples in Michigan, celebrated National Apple Month with a Curious Pairings event in Grand Rapids, MI, on Saturday, Oct. 16.

The three-part event was a day-long immersion where young-adult influencers were paired with The Ginger Chef, Jennifer Zirkle-Grawburg for an exploration of flavors and recipes featuring BelleHarvest’s apples. Influencers were invited to pick fruit, create curious culinary pairings, then serve the pairings to a group of BelleHarvest’s growers and team members.

Applewood Fresh, a premier produce brand and fourth-generation grower-packer-shipper-marketer of Michigan-grown apples is counting down the days to the start of its flavorful harvest, with Rave and SweeTango leading the way.

Miedema Produce ships more than 100 different products to customers across the United States and Canada.

The company has packaged product under the “For You” brand since it first started in 1971, with packaging options including a variety of cello and bulk bags.

Spring and summer are special seasons for the crew at Rocky Produce because it’s the time of year when locally grown produce starts to make its way into retail stores and in delicious dishes that are created in restaurants and other food service outlets.

The results of a strong Michigan harvest are helping the perfect cookout vegetable find itself on the top of many grocery lists at Meijer stores across the Midwest. The Grand Rapids, MI-based retailer saw twice as much asparagus in shopping carts last week, a trend expected to continue as it prepares to sell more than 2 million pounds this summer.  
 

The Freshealth division of DNO Produce kicks off its local summer harvest program with fresh-cut asparagus on May 24. The local harvest program was created to offer more access to local produce in Michigan schools.
