West Pack Inc., a family-owned bulk bag manufacturer based in Kellogg, ID, is seeing strong demand for its ventilated bags, in part due to its increased activity with potato shippers in the state.

Jim Driskell, president of West Pack, told The Produce News in 2023 that a goal for the coming year would be to develop more business in the agriculture industry. It appears that he has achieved that goal, with more to come.

Wilcox Fresh, a Rexburg, ID-based grower-shipper of potatoes and onions, is seeing strong growth in its business on both the domestic and international fronts.

Derek Peterson, vice president of sales and operations, told The Produce News Sept. 4 that harvest of new crop potatoes in Idaho began on Aug. 20 and quality looks to be excellent.

SUN VALLEY, ID — Each year at the Idaho Grower Shipper Association’s annual convention, the Idaho Potato Commission hosts an industry breakfast, where results of its marketing program for the past year are presented.

IPC Chairman Bryan Wada of Wada Farms first took the dais, remarking on the renewed level of passion to promote Idaho potatoes under the leadership of IPC President and CEO Jamey Higham, who joined the commission in January 2022.
