With more than five decades of experience calling the Hunts Point Market home, S. Katzman Produce has seen first-hand the importance of the market to New York and the surrounding areas.

“We bring stuff in from all over the world — about 50 different countries,” said Stefanie Katzman, executive vice president at S. Katzman Produce.

A fourth-generation family member in the company, Katzman, is seeing great things ahead for 2022.

As one of the largest importers of fresh produce, dried fruits and nuts from around the world, A.J. Trucco has been a staple at the Hunts Point Terminal Market since the Bronx market first opened its doors in 1965.

“We came into the business with a simple goal: become a trusted, reliable resource for buyers and sellers, anchored by family values and a strict adherence to service and quality,” said Nick Pacia, CEO of Trucco. “We’re proud to say our original traditions and relationship-first commitment are still very much alive.”

As a long-time wholesaler on the Hunts Point Market, the third generation run Nathel & Nathel continues to be a top importer and exporter, supplying retailers and wholesalers worldwide with produce.

The company operates 26 units on Row C and Row D, and has 70,000 square feet of refrigerated warehouse space, 180 employees and 40 trucks.

With its headquarters situated in Secaucus, NJ, less than 20 miles from the Hunts Point Market, third-generation family-owned Maurice Auerbach Inc. enjoys decades of great relationships with many on the market.

“We have several customers at the market that we deal with on a daily basis,” said Bruce Klein, director of marketing for the company. “The Hunts Point Market is an avenue for us to get to the people we need, and the accounts on the market are very important to us as we have several large customers.”

D’Arrigo New York has a rich history as part of the Hunts Point Produce Market and is one of the most prominent produce players in New York state.

The company is situated on Row C, evolving from four stalls in 1948 to 36 stalls today. It also has a piece of property across the street, and another facility at 1303 Randall Avenue, about a half mile away. That added another 35,000 square feet additional to the 112,000 square feet it operates on the market.
