SAVANNAH, GA — After having to cancel last year's Southern Innovations conference and trade show due to the worldwide pandemic, the Southeast Produce Council enthusiastically welcomed back the fresh produce industry to its 2021 fall event, held early September in Savannah, the oldest city in the state of Georgia.

The Organic Produce Summit is a major event that brings people from throughout the organic produce community together for networking and the opportunity to build on current partnerships and create new ones.

All of that is done while giving companies a forum to share news about their newest products and discuss the important issues that are affecting the industry.

As the organic category continues to grow, so does the demand for organic citrus — and it shows no sign of slowing down. That’s why Sunkist Growers, a 128-year-old citrus cooperative and its growers, continue to invest in organic citrus operations.

For over 15 years, the grower cooperative has been a proud supplier of USDA-certified organic citrus.

Savannah, GA, smiled on the produce industry as the Southeast Produce Council held its Southern Innovations event in the oldest city in Georgia. The show floor at the Savannah Convention Center buzzed as exhibitors happily highlighted their latest and greatest products.

This year’s Organic Produce Summit, which is being held Sept. 15-16 in Monterey, CA, promises to be extra special as it marks a return to an actual in-person event as opposed to the virtual shows that became the new norm during the pandemic.

Homegrown Organic Farms has been a major participant in the summit from the beginning, and recognizing the significance of this year’s edition; so much so, that the company is bringing its entire sales team to the show.
