Each year, the Southeast Produce Council looks forward to the blessings they receive by participating in the Palmer Home for Children Radiothon where listeners from across the state of Mississippi and beyond tuned in to hear stories and guest interviews from the 128-year-old nonprofit.

Continuing a tradition that has gone on for more than 75 years, the Quebec Produce Marketing Association (AQDFL/QPMA) will present its annual convention, Aug. 17-19 at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac.

The organizing committee, led by Chris Sarantis, Pota Bountounis, Christian Riopel and Nancy Potvin are excited for all the AQDFL convention has to offer.

The International Fresh Produce Association celebrated four standout winners at the Foodservice Conference Expo on July 28. The winners, announced on the expo floor, reflected on their wins.

Insights from Allyson Felix, the most decorated American track and field Olympian, entrepreneur and founder of Saysh, will bolster the produce and floral industries’ support for women as part of IFPA’s women’s portfolio and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts. Speaking at the Women’s Fresh Perspectives Breakfast, Saturday, Oct. 21, she is one of The Global Produce & Floral Show keynote speakers.

Ocean Mist Farms was presented with the IFPA Foodservice Conference’s Chef’s Choice Award at the annual show in Monterey on Friday, July 28.

The award-winning dish was developed for the artichoke giant and prepared at the show by Tony Baker, Ocean Mist’s longtime corporate chef. According to Baker, artichokes are “the incredible edible thistle — healthful, nutritious, fun to eat and easier to prepare and cook than most people think.”

The record-breaking crowd took over Monterey with approximately 2,200 registered attendees and wrapped on Friday afternoon with a bustling expo that’s been sold out for weeks.
