Taylor Farms unveiled a foodservice product line expansion in the form of premium, ready-to-use lettuce Toppers for every application — Taylor Toppers. The product line features Perfect Fit, Deli Gem and Whole Leaf Singles.

The Perfect Leaf is a hybrid of green leaf and Iceberg that delivers a consistently round shape and frilled edges for the “perfect” fit atop your hamburger bun — leaving no part of the leaf to waste. The Perfect Fit Leaf also presents less rib and a higher heat tolerance than traditional lettuces producing a fresh, high-quality product.

Among the many professional services The Ruby Company brings to the fresh produce industry, the Chicago-based company is expanding its footprint and geographic reach with a new office opening in Troy, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. “We’re hoping to start servicing the regional distributors, wholesalers, and re-packers,” said Josh Wolff, Co-Partner and Director of Growth & Strategy at The Ruby Company.

Pears have been known to be a bit of a challenging fruit for consumers to pick and purchase, but that is all about to change thanks to Crunch Pak’s new Sweet Peeled Pear Slices called Opera (O-pear-a), which will be hitting the foodservice and retail markets this fall.

The International Fresh Produce Association’s annual Foodservice Conference is a key event for Church Bros. Farms every year, and this year’s conference promises to be extra special, as the company will be spotlighting some new items under its Tuscan Salads line.

“Tuscan Salads are the most comprehensive product line of tender leaf plants in the industry,” said Ernst van Eeghen, vice president of foodservice business development for the Salinas, CA-based company.

The Salad Farm, a prominent player in tender leaf greens, recently announced a significant transformation in its company logo. This strategic decision reflects the organization’s commitment to adaptability, innovation and a forward-thinking approach.

In addition to supplying customers with high-quality garlic, ginger and shallots from around the world, I Love Produce President Jim Provost also lends his time and coaching abilities to a local Special Olympics basketball team, which recently competed in the national tournament held in early June in Orlando, FL.

Provost is an assistant coach of the team, working under head coach Tony Carney.
