T&A grants 4-year-old YouTube sensation's wish to visit a broccoli farm
Max, a 4-year-old from New Jersey, was told that his family was headed to a broccoli farm. Much to his surprise, when his family got out of the car it was at the circus, not a farm. Much to his parents' surprise Max was none too pleased. The viral video of Max's disappointment at missing out on seeing a broccoli farm now has nearly 1 million hits.
After seeing the YouTube video, the team at agricultural giant Tanimura & Antle answered Max’s desperate plea to see an active broccoli farm firsthand. Max, the broccoli farm-loving YouTube boy from New Jersey, plays in the broccoli fields of Salinas, CA.
“We are so glad that we were able to make Max’s dreams come true,” Caitlin Antle Wilson, sales and marketing director at Tanimura & Antle, said in a press release. “Max truly loved touring our broccoli farm and we know we have a broccoli fan for life! Max saw our broccoli harvested from the field and then he captained one of our tractors and helped prepare the fields for future broccoli crops. He really is a broccoli farmer now!”
Tanimura & Antle is a third-generation, family-owned-and-operated produce farming, harvesting and shipping business. The Tanimura and Antle families believe that educating children about farming and the importance of their food source is the best tool to promote lifelong healthy eating habits. T&A endeavors to make eating vegetables “cool” through complimentary tours of its expansive farms in California and Arizona.
