Village Farms Greenhouse Grown hosted an elegant Garden Fresh Flavor reception Oct. 18 at the Atlanta Botanical Garden for its customers, partners and friends. Held on the patio of Longleaf Restaurant during a beautiful autumn evening in Georgia, this intimate gathering provided a refreshing escape after a busy day at the IFPA Global Show.
Guests were treated to an array of hors d’oeuvres featuring exclusive Village Farms tomato, pepper and cucumber varieties. Highlights included the debut of the Heavenly Villagio Marzano TRIO collection, showcasing red, yellow and orange varieties. “It was here in Atlanta at the PMA, 12 years ago, that we first launched the red Heavenly Villagio Marzano,” said Helen L. Aquino, director of brand marketing and communications, “and now we’re thrilled to introduce the yellow and orange varieties to complete our TRIO collection.”
Attendees enjoyed a beautifully arranged charcuterie board, Heavenly Villagio Marzano tomato spoons and other creative bites. They were also able to view the third annual GP&FS show poster, painted by artist Shirley Chapman, which featured the iconic Earth Goddess sculpture from the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Guests had the opportunity to explore the garden during the reception, adding a touch of nature to the evening’s ambiance.
As a parting treat, Village Farms offered signature macarons made with a unique jam crafted from the Heavenly Villagio Marzano TRIO tomatoes, created by the garden's in-house chef. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with guests noting that hosting events in natural spaces like botanical gardens is an intuitive way to celebrate the fresh, vibrant products of the produce industry.
