Fresh commodities boost Oregon’s bottom line
Production of fresh fruits and vegetables makes Oregon a national contender in a number of areas. On Aug. 22, 2011, the Oregon Department of Agriculture revised its assessment of the state of agriculture in its publication, Oregon Agriculture: Facts and Figures. According to the report, preliminary figures show 2010 Oregon agricultural production to be valued at $4.4 billion, up 7 percent from 2009.
