Produce for Kids, an organization dedicated to educating families on the benefits of healthy eating, providing simple meal solutions and raising money for childrens's non-profit organizations, is sponsoring the upcoming meeting of the Eastern Produce Council.

After a push by U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Rep. Bill Owens (D-NY), apple exports from New York state to Canada are now moving at a swifter, more cost-effective pace because of a measure included in the farm bill.

Dynamic Systems Inc., a Redmond, WA, software developer specializing in traceability systems, has installed the SIMBA produce traceability solution at Georgia-based McLain Farms, one of the larger producers of sweet onions in the country.

Idaho Falls, ID-based Potandon Produce, a marketer of fresh potatoes and onions, announced the addition of Blaine Heiner to its sales staff.

Founded about five years ago, and already a well-known progressive and vibrant company, Vega Produce, headquartered in Doral, FL, just on the west side of the Miami International Airport, has announced that on Jan. 15 it hired long-time produce veteran, Lloyd Rosen as its sales manager.
