Melissa Anderson joins Owyhee Produce sales team
Melissa Anderson has joined the sales staff for Parma, ID-based Owyhee Produce, working out of her Georgia office.
Anderson, who was raised on a farm in southeast Georgia, brings several years of experience in onion sales, marketing and operations to the team.
Bailey Myers, who works in agritourism and marketing at the multi-generational Parma operation, said Anderson’s upbringing allowed her to “develop a profound connection with agriculture, eventually transitioning into a career in produce. With a rich background in leadership, networking and strategic engagement, she is well-equipped to navigate the intricacies of the tight-knit onion industry.”
Myers said Anderson “chose Owyhee not only for its professional opportunities but also for the genuine connection she felt with Shay, Angela and the Owyhee team. The shared commitment to Owyhee's success and fairness to customers and growers made joining the team an easy decision.”
Anderson said, “The first time I met Shay and Angela, it felt like I had met friends I had known my entire life. They were eager, wholeheartedly, and I knew within a few minutes of talking to them that they only wanted what was best for Owyhee while also being fair to their customers and growers.”
Myers also said Anderson is “anticipating the evolving landscape of the onion market [and] is eager to contribute to Owyhee’s growth.” The company is focusing on “expanding customer bases, building robust onion programs and addressing challenges such as labor and changing market dynamics.”
Anderson will be visiting the Parma operation soon, and Myers said the new sales agent “plans to strengthen team relationships and strategize on reaching new customer segments. With a passion for industry relationships, Melissa emphasizes the importance of staying connected with both customers and industry leaders.”
