Industry veteran Seth Mendelson joins The Produce News as New York Editor
Veteran business editor Seth Mendelson has joined The Produce News in a newly created role: New York Editor.
In his new role, Mendelson will be devoted exclusively to covering the vibrant New York produce industry, with special emphasis on the Hunts Point Market, as well as greater New York area wholesalers, retailers, foodservice distributors, brokers and shippers.
Mendelson spent nearly 20 years as the editorial director and publisher of Grocery Headquarters magazine, helping that publication develop a strong niche in the produce industry as they promoted the importance of the fresh produce sector to the general supermarket audience.
“We are very pleased to have Seth join us in this role,” said Craig Levitt, managing editor of The Produce News. “His long experience covering the food industry, especially the produce category, makes him perfect for supporting and promoting our friends in the New York produce trade.”
A graduate of Syracuse University, Mendelson started his career as a sportswriter and then a news writer for Gannett Newspapers in Westchester County, NY. He won several awards for his reporting and writing.
