Bonipak mourns cornerstone, co-owner Patrick Ferini
Patrick Ferini, a second-generation owner and a cornerstone of Bonipak Produce, died Jan. 29 at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy of exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication and genuine care for all those whose lives he touched.
Son of Milo Ferini, Bonipak Produce’s co-founder, Patrick Ferini established Betteravia Farms in 1962 along with Henri Ardantz and Milo Ferini, and became a pivotal figure in shaping the company’s direction and values. Over more than 60 years of service, he was not only a visionary leader but also a mentor, friend and inspiration to employees, partners and customers alike. Mr. Ferini believed deeply in hard work, innovation, and fostering a sense of community within the workplace.
"Patrick was more than a leader; he was the heart and soul of Bonipak. His dedication and passion were unparalleled, and his legacy will continue to inspire us every day," said Stan Otremba, a long-time colleague of Mr. Ferini.
Mr. Ferini’s influence extended beyond Bonipak Produce. He enjoyed trap shooting, golfing and bowling, and treasured time with family, whether barbecuing at Lake Nacimiento or visiting Hawaii. His passions and friendships left a lasting impact beyond his work.
"As we mourn this profound loss, we also celebrate the extraordinary life and achievements of Patrick," Bonipak said in a statement. "He leaves behind his loving wife Jeri, children Christine, Julie, Joan and Sara, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as a company and community that will forever be shaped by his vision and kindness."
