Applewood Fresh Growers hires Heather Childs as sales manager
Applewood Fresh Growers, an apple shipper, packer, grower and marketer of Michigan apples, was acquired by FirstFruits Farms out of Washington this past December. This new partnership has allowed for continual expansion in logistic capabilities, varietal offerings and team development.
Applewood Fresh Growers announced the addition of its newest team member, Heather Childs as sales manager.
Childs brings more than eight years of experience in transportation sales, specializing in produce shipments. She holds a bachelor’s degree in 2D design and two minors in professional sales and art history from Central Michigan University. In her role with Applewood Fresh, Childs will manage existing customer accounts, develop sales strategies and bring new perspectives to ensure top quality service for customers.
“I am beyond excited to join the Applewood Fresh team, as they are a known leader in high-quality fruit and grown managed apple varieties out of Michigan. I’m looking forward to building strong partnerships throughout the seasons,” said Childs.
Brian Coates, vice president of Applewood Fresh, looks forward to the integration of Childs’ knowledge on the produce industry.
“With apple volume increasing year after year, we need more hands-on deck. Heather’s extensive background of sales and transportation in the produce segment will help enhance our current sales program and support company growth,” he said.
