Rising Star Award presented at third annual ATPC
McAllen, TX – The Rising Star Award was presented to Ed Bertaud, the Houston-based director of business development for the Pallet Management Division of IFCO Systems N.A. Inc., March 8 during the America Trades Produce Conference, here.
In presenting the award, Chip Carter, Texas and Southern editor and sales manager of The Produce News, spoke of Mr. Bertaud’s involvement on many levels of the produce industry, including

Mr. Bertaud is also a member of the South Texas Manufacturer’s Association, the San Antonio Manufacturer’s Association, the Houston Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Association, the Texas Watermelon Association, the National Watermelon Association and the United Fresh Produce Association.
Mr. Bertaud lauded the many people who have contributed to his successful career in the produce industry and urged those in attendance to get involved in industry issues and organizations, as well as consider mentoring younger members of the industry.
The Rising Star Award was conceived by the Texas International Produce Association, the Fresh Produce Association of the Americas and The Produce News to recognize members of the produce industry under age 40 who have taken a leadership role in the industry. It is presented annually at the America Trades Produce Conference.
